MLB: LA star equals legend

Albert Pujols beat two home runs on Thursday when his Los Angeles Angels won 11-2 over the Seattle Mariners. He now has 630 and is on a par with Ken Griffey Jr. on the All-Time Homerun List. He also caught up with another Hall-of-Famer for the hits.

Pujols scored home run number 629 in the first inning with a 2-run shot against left-hander James Paxton (2/3 IP, 3 ER), who left the game with back problems after just two outs.

Pujols finally beat the historic 630th home run in the sixth inning against Relief Pitcher Nick Rumbelow. This puts Pujols on a par with Griffey in 6th place on the All-Time Homerun List. In front of him are three Hall-of-Famer as well as home run king Barry Bonds and Alex Rodriguez.

Pujols (3-4) also managed his 3055th hit with which he caught up with Rickey Henderson in 25th place on the All-Time Hits List.
