NBA: Media: Mavs faces settlement with Guard

The Dallas Mavericks have withdrawn the qualifying offer for Restricted Free Agent Yogi Ferrell. But according to media reports, the Mavs will still hold the guard. An agreement is imminent.

This is reported by Tim MacMahon of ESPN. The Mavs have withdrawn the $2.9 million qualifying offer for Ferrell, making the Guard an unrestricted free agent.

However, the qualifying offer is said to have been only a “placeholder” for cap reasons. There should be a quick agreement between both parties in the near future.

The 25-year-old came to the Mavs from the D-League during the 2016/17 season and was so convincing that Dallas signed him a two-year contract. In 118 games for Dallas (including 50 starts) Ferrell played an average of 10.6 points and 3.0 assists.
