NBA: Spipper is released from the Bulls

The Chicago Bulls fired Paul Spiser. This was possible because his salary was not guaranteed for the coming season.

The franchise announced the dismissal of the German in a short statement. This follows Jabari Parker’s commitment to cost the Bulls 20 million dollars in salary next season. Therefore, there was no room for the unguaranteed 1.5 million for Spi.

The native of Heidelberg played two seasons in the dress of the Bulls. In 2017/18 he had a hard time – also due to recurring foot problems. In 54 games he played 4 points and 2.4 rebounds on average.

What will happen next is unclear. A few weeks ago he said he was expecting to be released from the Bulls and added: “Generally speaking, I’m still a big fan of the NBA. But if there are only offers that I think will be similar to the Bulls – I’m sure I won’t do that. “I have no problem playing in Europe.”
