The Boston Red Sox are currently in excellent form and rushing from victory to victory. The manager of New York Yankees closest pursuer, Aaron Boone, has not escaped this fact.
Reporters had asked Boone whether he would keep an eye on the results of the Red Sox before the Yankees’ guest appearance with the Cleveland Indians on Sunday. His answer: “I see that they win every day.” A sentence that made people laugh.
Boone also emphasized, however, that his focus is elsewhere: “I don’t give it too much thought. “Right now, I’m just laughing at that.”
After losing two out of three games in their last guest appearance in the Bronx, the Red Sox scored eleven victories in twelve games, including ten in a row. Boston lead the American League East with three and a half games ahead of the Yankees.
“All in all, it’s not in our hands. And it’s July,” Boone continued. “So we still have a long way to go.” But Boone also made it clear: “We are super concentrated on ourselves. And if we end up doing our homework and doing our best, we’ll be in a good position.”
