NBA: Media: Melo signs with the Rockets

Carmelo Anthony is still an official member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, but according to media reports he will soon sign a contract with the Houston Rockets.

This was reported by Marc Stein of the New York Times. Melo will sign a contract in Houston when the Thunder trade with the Hawks becomes official and Atlanta pays Anthony off.

Melo will then sign a contract with the Rockets for the minimum ($2.4 million). Anthony will also get the full 27.3 million he is entitled to from the Hawks through the buyout.

The Hawks will put Melo on the waiver list after the trade, which also sends Dennis Schröder to Oklahoma City. In addition to the Rockets, the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers are also said to have been interested in the forward.
