Tour de France: Stage 17: Watch live today on TV, live stream and live ticker

Today the tour starts with an experiment in which the drivers will start at the beginning as in a motor sport race. Here you can get all information about the stage on Wednesday and the broadcast on TV and live stream.

On stage 16 Julian Alaphilippe took his second victory on this year’s tour. In the steep descent to the finish, however, the Frenchman profited from the fall of the leading Adam Yates.

Today will be exciting. The tour dares a start experiment: The drivers can be positioned according to their positions in the overall standings as in a Formula 1 race. The man in the yellow jersey, Geraint Thomas will start from the “pole position”. Behind them, the drivers line up in a 70-metre long corridor.

The aim is for the captains to ride the three difficult climbs without their helpers, which should guarantee additional excitement. The total distance from Bagneres-de-Luchon to Saint-Lary-Soulan is only 65 kilometres, but without flat passages it is either uphill or downhill.

The 17th stage starts at 3.15 pm. Today the ARD broadcasts the entire tour from 3.10 p.m. on the main programme. You can also watch the race on ARD’s free live stream.

Also Eurosport shows as usual the whole race from 3 pm. There is also a Livestream here, which is however liable to pay the costs.

You can also follow the entire stage in the LIVETICKER on SPOX.

For the fourth time in a row there have been no changes to the jerseys. As long as Peter Sagan reaches the finish line of the last stage, the green jersey cannot be taken away from him. Julian Alaphillipe already has a big lead on the mountain jersey, but as there are still some big mountain classifications to come, there is still a lot to be done.

The overall classification of this year’s tour has already taken on clear forms in the Alpine stages. Geraint Thomas drove out valuable seconds on his team captain Chris Froome, which he has not let take away so far. In addition, world champion Peter Sagan also delivers an outstanding performance. The Slovakian has already secured three stage victories. Thomas, Dylan Groenewegen, Fernando Gaviria and Julian Alaphillipe also scored two victories.
