NBA: Media: Raptors think about Monroe

The Toronto Raptors have repositioned themselves for Kawhi Leonard with DeMar DeRozan’s trade and will attack next season. However, the Canadian squad is not yet complete.

13 players are currently in the Raptor squad with guaranteed or partially guaranteed contracts, so theoretically two places are still available. According to TSN, Toronto are thinking about several players, including Greg Monroe in the considerations of GM Masai Ujiri and Co.

Monroe last played for the Boston Celtics and is one of the bigger remaining names on the market. In Boston last season, the former Pistons and Bucks player played 26 games with 10.2 points and 6.3 rebounds. However, the Celtics have not yet made any preparations to extend the 28-year-old.

Monroe joined Celtics as a free agent during the season after being sent by the Bucks to Phoenix, where he agreed to buy out the Suns after a total of 26 missions.

The Raptors could offer Monroe or another player the $5.3 million Mini-Midlevel Exception. Lucas Nogueira and Chris Boucher will also have a chance for a squad place.
