MLB: New York continue to tinker in the squad

The New York Yankees are still working on their squad. On Monday, the Bronx Bombers first picked up pitcher Lance Lynn from the Minnesota Twins and then handed Adam Warren over to the Seattle Mariners.

The Yankees sent rookie first baseman Tyler Austin, who last worked for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, to Max Kepler’s team. In return, Lynn came in a package with Cash. Of the approximately 4.5 million US dollars to which he is entitled until the end of the season, the twins pay about half.

Lynn, on the other hand, is considered a long-seliever in the bull pen after starting the Twins. He’s taking Warren’s squad spot that goes to Seattle.

The Mariners will take over the remaining $1.105 million of Warren’s salary. In exchange, the Yankees will receive $1.25 million for the bonus money pool to engage international amateur players.

Lynn came to Minneapolis before the season after six years with the St. Louis Cardinals as a free agent and signed for a year and twelve million dollars. However, he was unconvincing (85 ERA+).

However, Lynn welcomed the news of the trade: “It’s the New York Yankees,” he said on Monday: “When I was a kid, it was exciting for me to watch them win a lot of World Series Championships. And if you look at their team now, they’ll do anything to win another one. “And I’m excited to get this opportunity and challenge.”
