NBA: Pacers before extension with success coach

Nate McMillan is about to renew his contract with the Indiana Pacers. According to media reports, the coach and the Pacers have agreed on an extension until 2021.

This is reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. McMillan will extend his contract, which runs until 2019, until 2021. There should be agreement in principle between the two parties.

McMillan took the Pacers to 48-34 last season and fifth in the East. This came as a bit of a surprise, as the Pacers had traded their superstar Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder before the season. Indiana’s play-offs came to an end after seven games against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round.

McMillan has a record of 90-74 in his two years in Indiana, before the former point guard also coached the Portland Trail Blazers and the Seattle SuperSonics. In 14 years in the NBA his coaching record is 568-526.
