NFL: Patriots first round pick for the season out

The New England Patriots have to give up first-round pick Isaiah Wynn for the entire season. According to corresponding media reports, the tackle offensive has caused an Achilles tendon rupture.

Wynn, 23rd by the Boston franchise in the 2018 NFL draft, left the field limping against the Philadelphia Eagles in the first quarter of the Patriots’ Preseason opener on Thursday. After a short treatment he was immediately taken to the cabin. On Friday the diagnosis was made.

After Nate Solder left for the New York Giants, Wynn was the first backup for Trent Brown in the left tackle position and was even given right tackle time with the starters due to Marcus Cannon’s muscle problems. After Wynn’s injury, veteran LaAdrian Waddle will play a more important role in the roster of coach Bill Belichick.

Despite the Wynn injury, New England successfully entered the preseason. The Patriots started the Super Bowl rematch by beating the Philadelphia Eagles 37-20, with quarterback legend Tom Brady getting more time than expected, throwing 172 yards and 2 touchdowns.
