The 2018/19 NBA season promises to be a very interesting one after all the summer’s transactions and trades. But when does it start?

The 2018/19 NBA season will start on 16 October 2018 (local time), in Germany on the night of 17 October. The Eastern Conference starts with the rival duel between the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers, immediately followed by the reigning champion Golden State Warriors receiving the Oklahoma City Thunder. So Dennis Schröder will also be on duty with his new team on the first day of the season.

As every year, the Regular Season will be interrupted by the All-Star Weekend, where the traditional game of the best, the All-Star Game, will take place alongside various contests. This season’s night game takes place in Charlotte, North Carolina, on February 18 and is played at Spectrum Center.
The hot phase of the year will begin on 13 April (local time), shortly after the end of the Regular Season. As every year, the best eight teams will compete in best-of-seven series in both conferences until the NBA Finals between the winners of both conferences will take place in June. However, the exact dates for this are not yet known.
The traditional test phase for the Regular Season will begin this year on 28 September (local time) and then continue until 12 October. This is part of the preparation for the Regular Season and includes matches between NBA teams as well as matches between NBA teams and international opponents. The Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers will also host two games in China during the preseason.
