MLB: Schedule 2019: Games in Japan and Europe

The MLB has published the schedule for the 2019 season. All teams will start into the new year on March 28th. This marks the earliest start in the history of Major League Baseball. There are also several international dates.

The Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics will hold two games on March 20 and 21 in Tokyo Dome, Japan even before the official launch in the States. It will be the first series there since March 2012. At that time the A’s and M’s were also active.

As in 2018, the new schedule format will also apply in 2019. That means: There will be an extra weekend at the beginning, but also three to four additional days off for each team.

From a European perspective, the London Series will be the big highlight. The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees bring their rivalry to London Stadium on 29 and 30 June for the first MLB games ever in Europe.

There will also be six matches in Mexico at the Estadio do Beisbol Monterrey in Monterrey. During the Spring Training, the Colorado Rockies will meet the Arizona Diamondbacks (March 9 and 10). In the Regular Season, the Cincinnati Reds will play the St. Louis Cardinals on 13 and 14 April and the Los Angeles Angels will play the Houston Astros on 4 and 5 May.

The final day of the Regular Season will be Sunday 29 September, with playoffs starting on 1 October.
