NBA: Kawhi probably open for Toronto whereabouts

Can Kawhi Leonard imagine staying in Toronto for the long term after all? According to media reports, the superstar can well imagine signing with the Raptors again in the upcoming Free Agency.

This is reported by Jabari Young from the San Antonio Express News. According to Young, Leonard and his camp are open for talks next summer. The thought of L.A. should remain in the back of his mind, but Kawhi should also see his engagement with the Raptors as an opportunity and go into the season completely openly.

The Raptors handed in DeMar DeRozan and Jakob Pöltl for Leonard Franchise players in July and also received Danny Green from the Spurs. Leonard had put San Antonio under pressure and demanded a trade.

The claw still has two years of contract, but after the coming season Leonard can quit his contract, which he will almost certainly do, as he can get significantly more money in the Free Agency than the possible player option, which is worth around 21.3 million dollars.
