NBA: Are the Pels getting another experienced PG?

Are the New Orleans Pelicans still looking for a point guard? According to media reports, Ty Lawson held a workout for the Pels during the week. Ex-Clippers Guard Tyrone Wallace is also said to have been present.

That’s what Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype reports. The 30-year-old played most of last season in China and only signed a contract with the Washington Wizards in April until the end of the season.

There, the Guard played five games in the playoffs and scored 5.8 points on average. However, the veteran was not able to win a new contract. In his career, Lawson has also played for the Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers and the Sacramento Kings.

The Pelicans are probably still looking for a guard, as coach Alvin Gentry is known for playing with three little players at the same time. There are currently three playmakers in the squad: Jrue Holiday, Elfrid Payton and Frank Jackson.

They said Tyrone Wallace was tested alongside Lawson. The defensive specialist made a name for himself with the Clippers last season when he became an important part of Coach Doc Rivers’ rotation as a two-way player. In 30 games, he averaged 9.7 points.
