Kendrys Morales set a franchise record for the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday. He hit a home run in his seventh game in a row.

The Blue Jays lost 3-8 to Philadelphia Phillies at Rogers Centre, but Morales continued his impressive home run series. He is the first blue-jay player to do so. In the MLB, however, seven players in total managed such a series.

In the third inning, Morales beat a 2-run Homun against Vince Velasquez. He overtook Jose Cruz Jr. who had produced a long ball in six games in 2001.

Morales also surpassed the previous record (6) this season that he and Matt Carpenter from the St. Louis Cardinals had held so far.

The last player to win a seven-game Homun series before Morales was Kevin Mench for the Texas Rangers in 2006.

However, Ken Griffey Jr., Dale Long and Don Mattingly hold the Major League record for most games in a row with at least one home run at eight.
