NFL: Packers give quarterback to Seahawks

The Green Bay Packers gave quarterback Brett Hundley to the Seattle Seahawks. In return, the Packers will receive a six-hour pick in the upcoming draft, according to media reports.

Hundley, who last season was the first replacement for starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers, is now playing a backup role in the Seahawks for Russel Wilson. He hasn’t missed a game yet due to injury, but due to Wilson’s style of play there is always the danger of a prolonged absence.

Besides Hundley, the Seahawks are said to have also considered Jacoby Brisett of the Indianapolis Colts in search of a suitable backup quarterback.

This role will be played in Green Bay next season by DeShone Kizer. Last year’s Cleveland Browns starting quarterback was traded to Wisconsin in March.

Hundley had played eleven games for the Packers last season after Rodgers dropped out for months with a broken collarbone. The backup was only partially convincing, and threw for nine touchdowns at twelve interceptions. The Packers then missed the playoffs, although Rodgers made his comeback in week 15.
