NBA: Knicks legend criticizes Kevin Durant

Two years later, Kevin Durant’s move to the Golden State Warriors still remains an issue. Now Knicks legend Clyde Frazier has criticized the two-time finals MVP on SiriusXM NBA Radio.

“Durant joined a team that didn’t really need him, great as he is as a player,” Frazier said. “He’s almost at the same level as LeBron and will probably soon replace him as the best player in the league. But after he did, I’m still not giving him all the credit he probably deserved if he’d stayed with OKC and won a title there.”

Frazier was asked if the two titles and final MVP awards for Durant would change Durant’s place on the list of the best players of all time. There will always be an asterisk next to his name,” says Frazier.

Frazier was instrumental in the only two Knicks titles in 1970 and 1973 and today works as a TV expert for the MSG Network. The traditional New York franchise will have a lot of money at its disposal next summer and plans to seek out several free agents, including Kyrie Irving, Jimmy Butler and Durant. Frazier was also asked about this.

“The chances are probably 50-50,” said Frazier about the possibility of a new “super team” in New York. “You never know what boys are thinking these days. It’s nothing I would have done. I would never have joined Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain or Bill Russell. I wanted to kick their ass.”

The new generation is different: “Today’s players have this cohesion and want to play together. Carmelo Anthony is now playing in Houston with Chris Paul, both wanted that for a long time. It is possible that a new group will come together here in New York,” said Frazier.
