NFL: Eagles confirm Foles mission against Falcons

The Philadelphia Eagles have named quarterback Nick Foles as the starter for the opening game against the Atlanta Falcons. This was announced by head coach Doug Pederson on Monday.

Pederson said Foles was “in the best interest” of the reigning Super Bowl champion.

This development also confirms that Carson Wentz is not yet in full possession of his powers. Wentz had suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in December and explained that his goal of the rehabilitation process was the start of the season.

“I don’t know how many times I’m supposed to answer that question,” Pederson said. “When he’s ready, he’s ready.”
