NFL: Falcons: Season off for Pro-Bowl-Safety

The season opener could not have been more bitter for the Atlanta Falcons. Not only did the guests dramatically lose the game against the Philadelphia Eagles, but also Safety Keanu Neal.

Like the Falcons on Friday, Neal ripped his cruciate ligament in Philadelphia and will miss the rest of the season. Shortly after the match, Head Coach Dan Quinn stated that the injury seemed like no serious.

Neal twisted his knee during the first half, but then returned to the field. In the second half, however, he was left without any contact from his opponent.

The Falcons lose one of their cornerstones of the defense, so Neal plays an enormously important role in Quinn’s system and is on the pitch every down. In his first two years he collected 222 tackles, 15 pass deflections and one interception.

Neal was replaced by Damontae Kazee in the game against the Eagles. Kazee did not make a bad impression, but the success rate of the Eagles Runs increased drastically as a result of the Neal injury.
