NFL: Extend Cardinals with Runningback

The Arizona Cardinals have extended David Johnson’s contract for three years. This was announced by the franchise on Saturday.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reports that the new contract is worth $39 million, of which $30 million is guaranteed. According to Tom Pelissero, Johnson is already receiving 24 million before another four in March.

The Runningback was drafted by the Cardinals in 2015 and has since played for the two-time NFL Champion.

After starting every Regular Season game in 2016 and reaching 1,239 yards, 16 touchdowns, 879 trapped yards and four touchdowns, he injured his wrist in the following year’s first season game. He was placed on the Injured Reserve List and dropped out for the rest of the season.
