Basketball: Gala in Estonia: DBB team close to the World Cup

The German basketball players have solved their compulsory task in Estonia with confidence and are only one step away from the World Cup ticket.

At 86:43 (49:24) in Tallinn, NBA professional Dennis Schröder and his team celebrated their seventh victory in the seventh qualifying match. The leap to the 2019 World Cup in China can already be made with another success in Leipzig against Israel on Sunday.

The best player in the selection of the German Basketball Federation, which lost against Turkey and Italy at the Supercup in Hamburg last weekend, was Schröder with 18 points and 10 assists. The team under national coach Henrik Rödl is still unbeaten in competitive matches.

With 14 points, the DBB team leads Group L ahead of Greece (12), Serbia (10) and Israel (9), who are only in action later this evening. Three out of six teams buy a World Cup ticket.
