The Seattle Seahawks are expected to sign Free Agent Mychal Kendricks despite his upcoming trial. This is reported by Ian Rapoport from the NFL Network.
With Kendricks’ commitment, the Seahawks are responding to the injury problems of Linbebacker K.J. Wright and Bobby Wagner, who caused them serious problems in their first game of the season against Denver Broncos.
Kendricks himself had only signed a contract with the Cleveland Browns this summer. However, after the first rumours arose that Kendricks had conducted targeted insider trading together with an investment banker, the Browns immediately dismissed him.
Kendricks himself is now guilty of making up to $1.2 million in profits on the deal. In December, the trial begins, in which he is threatened with up to 25 years imprisonment.
Meanwhile, in addition to criminal prosecution, Kendricks is also threatened with bad luck from the NFL in connection with the Personal Conduct Policy. According to NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy, the matter is being investigated. Until then, however, Kendricks is allowed to sign and play with every team.
