NBA: Trade Wish? Thibs still wants to change Butler’s mind

Jimmy Butler demanded a trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves last week and, according to Wolves owner Glen Taylor, the organisation is to comply. Only Tom Thibodeau still has hope.

The head coach and president of the team tried to dissuade Butler from his position on Monday and still tried to report to the training camp, as ESPN reports. Butler, however, has no interest in it. The four-time All-Star will strike until there is a trade, the report says.

Thibodeau spoke about the Personal Butler on Monday at the Media Day and said that there will only be a trade if Minnesota really benefits: “If something is good for us, we’ll do it. If not, we move in a different direction,” says Thibodeau, which should mean: “If no good offer comes along, Butler is still expected to contact the team.

The chances of remaining, however, are still far from good. Butler informed Thibodeau last week that he no longer wants to play for the Wolves. If there is no trade, the Swingman could leave the team next summer as a free agent with no value.
