NBA: Walker: “Wants to build something special here.”

Kemba Walker also belongs to a top-class group of players who will become Free Agents in summer 2019. But the Point Guard obviously has no interest in leaving Charlotte.

“You can see all the people who have joined the elite teams,” Walker said at the Hornets Media Day. “I don’t want this. I want to build something special here in Charlotte.”

Walker assumes that the Hornets are also interested in the 28-year-old’s whereabouts and will try to extend his contract. “I just feel that way,” says Walker.

The 9th Pick of Draft 2011 spent his entire career in Charlotte and earned $12 million in his final contract year. A significant salary increase is expected for the Hornets franchise player next summer.

Walker averaged 22.1 points and 5.6 assists in the 2017/18 season and was voted All-Star for the second time in a row.
