NBA: “Strong Push” of the Rockets for Butler – 76ers out of the race

There is still no trade for the dissatisfied superstar Jimmy Butler of the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to ESPN, because the team is making unrealistically high demands.

Now the Houston Rockets must have switched on. According to insider Mark Berman of Fox 26, the best team of last year’s Regular Season is about to initiate a “strong push” for a Trade Butler to race with James Harden and Chris Paul.

What this push looks like, however, is unclear – given the salary structure last year’s Sixth Man Eric Gordon would probably have to be involved in the deal. To absorb the $18.7 million salary that Butler will earn next season, Houston would have to pay a comparable sum.

Meanwhile the 76s are apparently out of the race. According to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, Philly made an offer to the Wolves, but Minnesota demanded Rookie of the Year Ben Simmons in exchange, which is out of the question for the Sixers. In this respect, they have withdrawn from the talks.

Many teams are still sceptical that Wolves President Tom Thibodeau is really interested in the superstar’s trade because the demands remain so high. Accordingly, Thibs wants to have good veterans as well as talents, future assets and relief of the salary cap in one deal.
