MLB: Milwaukee wins division title in Chicago

The Milwaukee Brewers won the National League Central Tiebreaker Game against the Chicago Cubs 3:1 and won the division. Later in the evening the Los Angeles Dodgers meet the Colorado Rockies in the Tiebreaker Game of the NL West (now live on DAZN).

In a hard-fought tiebreaker game in Chicago’s Wrigley Field, the decision in favour of the Wisconsin visitors was made in the eighth inning. With runners on 2 and 3 and no out, it was Lorenzo Cain who brought the Brew Crew into the lead with an RBI single 2:1.

Then Ryan Braun increased his RBI single to 3:1 before the bullpen of the Cubs stopped the bleeding.

Previously, Christian Yelich had brought the Brewers into front with an RBI single in the third inning, before Anthony Rizzo compensated for Chicago with a solo Homerun in the fifth frame.

This success means that the Brewers will be the first to complete the Central Division and receive the winner of tomorrow’s Wildcard Game in the National League Division Series.

The Cubs in turn receive the loser of the West-Tiebreaker game between the Dodgers and Rockies in the wildcard game.
