As in previous seasons, DAZN has again secured the broadcasting rights for the Basketball Champions League this season.
The focus continues to be on the games of the German teams, but selected other games of the Basketball Champions League will also be shown.
DAZN is an online streaming service that specialises in the transmission of sports and can therefore also be described as the “Netflix of sports”.
Besides the Basketball-Champions-League DAZN also shows the big US-Leagues NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL as well as many other sports like boxing or darts. In the football field, for example, the streaming service broadcasts matches from the Champions League, Europa League, Premier League, Primera Division, Ligue 1 or Serie A.
A DAZN subscription costs 9.99 euros per month, the first trial month is free.
A total of 32 teams will participate in the group phase of the Basketball Champions League. 26 teams qualified directly for the competition, the remaining six teams prevailed in the qualification.
Of the four German participants only medi Bayreuth had to compete in the qualification. The team entered the third and last qualifying round and won 159:146 against the Polish representative Polski Cukier Torun.
The 32 teams compete in four groups, each with eight participants, and compete in the first and second legs.
Places 1 to 4 will then take part in the sixteenth finals, while places 5 and 6 will still take part in the Europe Cup. In the quarter-finals, the teams that will compete in the Final Four from 3 to 6 May 2019 will be determined.
