MLB: Old master wants to hang on for another year

CC Sabathia from the New York Yankees wants to play in the MLB in 2019 as well. That’s what the left-hander said on Monday, after having flirted with a career end in the course of the season.

“I definitely want to play next year,” Sabathia said at a press conference at Yankee Stadium. Sabathia is scheduled to start game 4 of the American League Division Series against the Boston Red Sox on the night of Wednesday (2:07 a.m. live on DAZN).

Sabathia doesn’t want to make a continuation of his career dependent on a certain team: “I’ll play everywhere”, Sabathia clarified and added: “I still want to play. I still want to pitch and I can definitely help a team and make people out.”

Sabathia, who will be 39 years old next July, will become a Free Agent after the end of the season, after having extended only one year in New York last December. It was his tenth season at Pinstripes after joining the Yankees for the 2009 season.
