The German-American Equanimeous St. Brown had a successful start debut for the Green Bay Packers. Despite the bankruptcy against the Detroit Lions the receiver could recommend itself for further tasks.
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers targeted the rookie receiver five times, St. Brown started three passes for 89 yards. His third and final catch was the longest, over 54 yards, just before the end of the match.
These were the first regular season matches in the 22-year-old’s NFL career. In the preseason he had already caught six passes for 83 yards of space gain.
St. Brown was allowed to start against division rival Detroit behind number 1 videout Davante Adams and rookie colleague Marquez Valdes-Scantling as third receiver. Green Bay had to give up Geronimo Allison and Randall Cobb due to injury.
The Packers had selected St. Brown in the sixth round of this year’s draft. Already in college, St. Brown had indicated his potential with his big-play abilities – it remains to be seen whether the Packers will train him further in the offense in the coming weeks.
