NBA: Dubs-Insider expects KD disposal in 2019

Kevin Durant will be Free Agent again in summer 2019. But unlike in the previous two years, the Golden State Warriors are no longer so sure whether the double final MVP will sign a new contract. Dubs insider Marcus Thompson even expects an exit.

“It feels like KD is leaving,” Thompson (The Athletic) explained in the Murph & Mac podcast, cementing these statements in a separate article. “I have this feeling it could soon be over.” According to Thompson, Durant may be looking for a new challenge if the Warriors actually win the third title in a row.

“The difficulty with Durant is that we don’t know what he wants,” Thompson continued. “I’m not even sure if he knows it himself. But what I do know for sure is that the Warriors don’t know what Durant wants.”

Durant signed a new two-year contract with Golden State in the summer, with the second year being a $31.5 million player option. It can be assumed that Durant will not perceive this (also for monetary reasons).
