Jimmy Butler continues to make headlines in Minnesota. According to media reports, the change-willing superstar organized a players’ meeting yesterday to clear the air with his teammates. Guard Jeff Teague later denied this message.
According to information from Shams Charania (The Athletic), Butler gathered his fellow players to talk about the situation, the management and his own feelings. Butler, who was away from the team for a few weeks after calling for a trade, returned to training on Tuesday to make a curious appearance.
According to Charania, it wasn’t just Butler who spoke at the meeting, but many other players as well. However, Jeff Teague denied that this meeting even took place and called it “Fake News.”
Coach Tom Thibodeau had previously cancelled training, so the players were not available to the media.
Butler, on the other hand, is said to have stood before a trade to Miami on the weekend, but the deal went away because the Timberwolves probably demanded too much of the heat. According to an ESPN report, Heat President Pat Riley was very angry about this. They say Thibs called Riley to get another pick. Riley is said to have called Thibodeau a “motherfucker” and played it.
