NBA: Russ still questionable – Schröder probably starting

Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook is making progress in training and approaching a return to the pitch. Nevertheless, the Season Opener at the Golden State Warriors is in question for him.

OKC coach Billy Donovan has confirmed to ESPN that Westbrook can participate in more and more training sessions, but he must continue to spare his body and should not go into full contact. Whether the All-Star is fit again at the start of the season, he leaves open.

For the Thunder it goes on Wednesday (start at 4.30 o’clock live on DAZN) to Golden State to the Warriors. “I don’t want to say that he’ll be ready. I know you’d like to know this, but it’s still too far away and until then many factors will influence this decision,” Donovan said.

However, Westbrook is on a good way, he works very hard on his comeback and himself. “Every day he feels better and better,” the coach gives hope.

The Point Guard had an athroscopic surgery on his right knee on September 12. If he misses the first games of the season, OKC will use the German newcomer Dennis Schröder as a starter. The former Braunschweiger was traded from the Atlanta Hawks to Oklahoma in the offseason.
