Dominik Kahun scored the first goal in the NHL. The Olympic silver medallist scored a 2:0 win for the guests in the Chicago Blackhawks’ 3-4 defeat after overtime at Minnesota Wild in his fourth NHL game.
Leon Draisaitl and Tobias Rieder also lost 4-1 to Boston Bruins with Edmonton Oilers, while goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer did not play in Colorado Avalanche’s 6-1 win over Buffalo Sabres.
It was only on Monday that Kahun scored his first two goals in the world’s strongest league at his home debut for Chicago.
After two wins after extra time, the Blackhawks now suffered two defeats in overtime and are fourth in the west. The Oilers conceded their second defeat in the second game of the season and are last in the Western Conference.
Grubauer, last season’s Stanley Cup winner with the Washington Capitals, once again failed to make it to the field in his new team’s third victory of the season. In the fight for number one, the 26-year-old Rosenheimer has for the time being lost to the Russian Semjon Warlamow.
