Leon Draisaitl and Tobias Rieder have won their first NHL race of the season with the Edmonton Oilers. After two previous defeats, the Canadians managed a 2-1 victory at the New York Rangers on Saturday.
Draisaitl recorded the template for the winning goal after Power Play by Captain Connor McDavid (47.). First the Rangers had taken the lead through Mika Zibanejad (13th), Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (15th) compensated immediately.
National player Dominik Kahun also scored a scorer point. The former Munich player submitted a 1:0 defeat in the 4:3 victory of his Chicago Blackhawks against the St. Louis Blues.
The Blackhawks were the first NHL team in history to be overtime in each of their first five games of the season, and the third time they went off the ice as winners.
The two German goalies in the NHL, on the other hand, were not used. The New York Islanders lost without goalkeeper Thomas Greiss 2:5 at the Nashville Predators, Colorado Avalanche lost to the Calgary Flames without Philipp Grubauer 2:3 after extra time.
