NBA: Official! Extend nuggets with Malone

The Denver Nuggets have extended the contract of head coach Mike Malone ahead of time. The franchise officially announced that.

The Malone Treaty would have expired in 2019 and, according to information from Adrian Wojnarowski (ESPN), the working paper has now been extended by two more years until 2021. Malone has been the head coach in Denver since 2015 and the team has improved every season, even if the playoffs have been missed.

“I had no doubt that our cooperation would be extended,” Malone explained. “The front office talked to me a lot during the summer and it was all very positive.”

Last season, the franchise from Mile High City missed out only narrowly with a balance of 46-36.
