Ski crosser Katrin Ofner is absent for at least two months after an operation. The Olympic ninth had suffered a muscle rupture at the ischial tuberosity in her right thigh during a training crash in Saas Fee in September.

During the procedure in the sanatorium Hochrum the muscle was fixed to the ischial tuberosity with two anchors. The 28-year-old Styrian will only be able to resume snow training in mid-December and miss all six World Cup races before Christmas.

“I won’t rush into anything on the way back and only enter the World Cup when I’m in top shape again and can ride in the front. My body will tell me when that will be,” Ofner was quoted in an ÖSV broadcast on Wednesday.
