Alpine skiing: Neureuther leaves Sölden start still open

Felix Neureuther wants to leave his start at the Ski World Cup season open at the weekend in Sölden until shortly before the race.

After a cruciate ligament rupture in November 2017 and a long period of rehabilitation, the German suffered from back pain most recently. “I will decide on Thursday or Friday when a final acid test is due,” said Neureuther in a ZDF interview.

“I want to be competitive when I start,” stressed the 34-year-old Neureuther with regard to the giant slalom on Sunday.
