Basketball: EuroLeague: FCB on track after opening bankruptcy

FC Bayern Basketball has rehabilitated itself in the EuroLeague and celebrated its second victory in the fourth game. The table leader of the BBL won against the Spanish runner-up Baskonia Vitoria at home with 77:71 (43:32) and is for the time being in the midfield of the 16 players table.

In the Munich competition, long-time NBA professional Derrick Williams impressed with 22 points as well as Maodo Lo (15) and Nihad Dedovic (14). The former Johannes Voigtmann from Frankfurt scored three points for the Spaniards, the best thrower of the match was Vincent Poirier (24).

Coach Dejan Radonjic’s Munich team got off to a better start in the Audi Dome and scored a ten-point lead (20:10) in the first quarter. Only a small phase of weakness in the second quarter made the game once again exciting (33:32), but the Bavarians brought home the victory in the following sovereign.

On the fifth matchday next Thursday, the Munich team will be playing for Turkish champions Fenerbahce Istanbul.
