Ski-Alpin: Kristoffersen: “Shame what’s going on with Aksel and me”

In an interview with the Tiroler Tageszeitung Norwegian ski star Henrik Kristoffersen denounced the ban on head sponsorship and accused him of not being able to find the same possibilities as a Marcel Hirscher or an Alexis Pinturault.

“It’s a shame what’s going on with Aksel and me. Aksel would earn support, I would earn it,” said Kristoffersen.

After he had been excluded from training together in the summer of 2017 because of his conflict with the Norwegian Ski Federation, he prepared this time in a team in a training group with Leif Kristian Haugen.

The waves are not smoothed, however, because of the prohibition of an own head sponsor – this applies to all athletes and thus also to Aksel Lund Svindal – Kristoffersen sued the federation for compensation due to lost advertising income of 1.5 million euros.

“When it comes to sponsors, I want the same opportunities as the athletes in all other countries,” Kristoffersen told the Tiroler Tageszeitung.

“It’s not about the money, either. I told the federation, ‘You can have all the money from the Red Bull deal!’ I just want the opportunities this sponsor offers me to get better. Like deer. Money is not the most important thing – the most important thing is that I become a better athlete,” said the great challenger of Marcel Hirscher in the fight for the overall World Cup.
