NBA: Lakers send Moe Wagner to the G-League

The Los Angeles Lakers have sent Moritz Wagner to their G-League team, the South Bay Lakers. The franchise announced this in an official press release.

Wagner is to gain his first playing experience in El Segundo after his knee injury in the G-League. The German had injured his left knee in the Summer League and since then missed the preseason and the Lakers’ start to the season.

According to the Lakers, Wagner has now received full clearance from the medical department to return to the floor. Last week it became known that Wagner had returned to team training.

The German was selected by the Lakers in draft 2018 at position 25. As a big man with a sure throw, he could play an important role with the Lakers even in his rookie season, as LAL does not necessarily have a lot of players in the center position. How long Wagner will stay in the G-League with the Soth Bay Lakers is not yet clear.
