NBA: Wizards: Brooks keeps job – Howard before debut

Although the Washington Wizards started the season disastrously with 1-5 and lost their matchup last night against the Los Angeles Clippers with 32 points, the franchise still holds on to Scott Brooks.

Although the team lost 104-136 against the Clippers in the sixth game, allowing nine opposing players double-digit points, Brooks doesn’t have to worry about his job for now, reports Yahoo! Sports.

The coach’s contract runs for another three years, originally Brooks had signed over five seasons for 35 million dollars.

Apart from the Wizards’ leaders, however, his players are also behind him. “The coach puts us in a position to succeed. It’s not Coach Brooks’s fault,” said Guard Austin Rivers.

For the next game at the Memphis Grizzlies (Wednesday, 1am), improvement may be in sight. Center newcomer Dwight Howard, who was not ready for action due to a buttock injury, is about to make his Washington debut. Possibly he will give the team the necessary defensive stability.
