NHL: Record! Montreal scores two goals in two seconds

Record-breaking champions Montreal Canadiens set a record in their home game against defending champions Washington Capitals in the NHL with two goals in two seconds.

Max Domi (59:38) and Joel Armia (59:40) won 6:4 in the final minute. Armia hit the empty goal right after the bully, the Caps had taken out their goalie for an additional field player.

The previous record was three seconds and had been achieved by three teams. The New York Islanders (2016 against Pittsburgh), the Minnesota Wild (2014 against Chicago) and the St. Louis Eagles (1935 against Detroit) scored in a flash.
