NBA: Happiness in disguise – LeVert does not need surgery

Luck in disguise for Caris LeVert of the Brooklyn Nets. The Guard just dislocated the ankle joint. On Tuesday, the team announced that the Guard would not need an operation.

“Fortunately, the tests this morning showed no fractures and only the ligaments were damaged,” said Nets-orthopedist Dr Martin O’Malley. “From the outside, the injury may seem more severe, but surgery won’t be necessary.”

The 24-year-old injured himself in the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves when he crashed uncontrollably on the ground after a collision. The foot seemed to be completely broken and LeVert was immediately taken to hospital while the rest of the players were worried about his health.

O’Malles added that the Guard is now entering a period of rehabilitation whose time is unforeseeable. However, LeVert is expected to “return to full strength this season and participate in all basketball activities without limitations.”
