Ski jumping: Strong ÖSV eagles jump onto the podium at team competition

Austria’s Adler have opened the World Cup winter of ski jumpers with a third place in the team competition of Wisla. With 972.0 points, Michael Hayböck, Clemens Aigner, Daniel Huber and Stefan Kraft only had to admit defeat on Saturday to Olympic champions Kamil Stoch (1,026.6) and Germany (1,015.5) to host Poland.

The fourth-placed Japanese already lacked 55.5 points on Austria. Norway’s Robert Johansson was disqualified and the quartet of the Olympic champion missed the second run of the best eight teams in tenth place.

On Sunday (15.00 o’clock) the first individual jumping of the season will take place in Wisla. In addition to the Saturday team, Gregor Schlierenzauer and Manuel Fettner will also start for Austria.
