NBA: Butler in Philly: “Much more fun.”

Jimmy Butler, after his trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves to the Philadelphia 76ers, is extremely happy with his new situation in the city of brotherly love – both athletically and privately.

“It’s much more fun to play with these guys,” Butler said to NBC Sports Philadelphia after winning against Utah Jazz on Friday.

“Everyone wants to win, and if someone makes a mistake, you talk to them and everyone does their job,” Jimmy Buckets continued. Accordingly, he feels very comfortable with his new teammates.

At his home debut on Friday, the 29-year-old contributed a lot to his first victory in the Sixers jersey: Butler scored 28 points with 12 out of 15 out of the field and also distributed 7 assists.

“If you put five really good basketball players on the field, you have an easy job because the ball will move,” explained Butler. “The boys throw when they’re open or match the open teammate. That’s how simple basketball is. With these guys here, it’s really easy.”

However, it will be a while before the newly formed Sixers team has completely got used to each other. According to his own statement, Head Coach Brett Brown has so far only presented about 25 percent of his offensive Playbook to his newcomer.

“It’s a great new gift we have here,” commented Brown, who was extremely pleased with Butler’s first games for the Sixers.

After the defeat against the Orlando Magic in Butler’s first game, Philly went on to win against the Jazz and last night against the Hornets with two wins in a row – especially thanks to Jimmy Buckets.
