Isaac Bonga has made another promising appearance in the G-League for the South Bay Lakers. In the 107:92 victory of his team against the Salt Lake City Stars, the German top scorer played a big part in the success.
In a total of 36 minutes the 19-year-old scored 25 points (9/16 FG, 5/9 three), 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, but also 6 ball losses.
It was South Bay’s second victory in the seventh game of the season. The team of Head Coach Coby Karl could convince especially in the collective, all starters scored a two-digit point score, whereby Johnathan Williams (17) left a good impression next to Bonga. Alex Caruso and Moritz Wagner stayed with the Los Angeles Lakers, although they were not used for the Miami game.
They were not needed against Salt Lake City because South Bay had the game under control for the whole 48 minutes. Only in the fourth quarter did the guests turn up a bit, but Bonga had the right answer from a distance several times.
For the stars, Tony Bradley (15), first round pick of jazz in 2017, and Willie Reed (16, 17 rebounds) were the most conspicuous actors. But as a team the guests suffered devastating 32 ball losses.
