The SG Flensburg-Handewitt has continued its triumphal march in the Handball Bundesliga. The North Germans took their 14th success in the 14th game with a clear 33:23 (19:12) at the Kellerkind VfL Gummersbach and lead the table with 28:0 points. The chasers SC Magdeburg and THW Kiel (each 26:4) also did not miss out.
Flensburg, three days after the victory against pursuers and cup winners Rhein-Neckar Löwen, an average performance was enough for the next success. The SG coach Maik Machulla’s team made a 10:5 from a 3:5 deficit and then had everything under control. The best thrower was Magnus Jöndal with ten goals. Since February 2009 the SG has won all 23 matches against Gummersbach.
The pursuer Magdeburg won 33:29 (19:15) against the promoted SG BBM Bietigheim. It was more exciting in Kiel: The record champion had a hard time at 26:22 (14:13) against the foxes Berlin before the break, which were plagued by injury worries, but won the eleventh victory in a row in the end.
The MT Melsungen (20:8 points) also swims on a wave of success, the tight 27:26 (14:14) against the HC Erlangen was the sixth victory in a row for the team of coach Heiko Grimm.
The brilliant newcomer Bergischer HC took a 25:28 (11:14) home defeat against FA Göppingen, TBV Lemgo Lippe won against TVB Stuttgart 28:24 (15:12).
