NBA: L.A. chases Middleton – also Mavs interested?

Khris Middleton has become one of the best two-way players in the league over the last few years and will be Free Agent next summer. According to Sporting News, the Swingman will then be really expensive.

Middleton is currently still playing on a five-year contract for 70 million dollars, which would bring him another 13 million per option for the coming season. With his current performance, however, he probably has a much higher salary in his sights. With 19.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists on average, Middleton is currently playing its best season.

According to the report, both the Lakers and the Clippers want to make offers next summer, and the Knicks, Mavericks and Cavaliers can also get into poker. Due to the bird rights the Bucks have the possibility to pay Middleton more than all other teams – and they want to keep him. Even if, in view of the market, he is likely to receive double his salary.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old himself only wants to concentrate on the current situation. “I’ve always been someone who’s just taken aim one day at a time,” says Middleton. “I don’t want to think too far ahead. If you do that, you’re far too easily distracted, and I don’t want to do that.”

Currently, both Middleton and his team are doing very well: The Bucks have won 12 of their first 16 games and are on course for their most successful season in a long time. The same goes for Middleton, who has a good chance of becoming an All-Star for the first time in his sixth season in Milwaukee.
