NBA: LeBron about Ball: “I don’t know how good he is”

Lonzo Ball is still looking for his role in the newly formed Los Angeles Lakers team. From LeBron James there was now at least some praise for the sophomore. The King still sees a lot of potential in the former No.2 Pick.

“I think sometimes he doesn’t even know how good he really is,” James told Sporting News. “When he notices what he can do, it makes him really dynamic and us as a team much better. Recently, he’s shown this aggressiveness more and more.”

Ball is currently the starter on Point Guard for the Lakers, as Rajon Rondo broke his hand early in the season. Statistically, however, Ball was not yet able to convince. In his 18 games, the playmaker only played 8.2 points and 4.8 assists, after all, his triple quota of 35 percent is significantly better than last year (30 percent).

For LeBron, however, this is not so decisive. “He’s forgiven a few open throws, that’s what happens. He pulled some offensive fouls, which is really good,” the mega star summed up. Nevertheless, it is much more important that the attitude and passion can be seen at Ball. “We need the aggressiveness he’s shown lately. He must maintain this level because it is very high.”

The Lakers will play against the Orlando Magic in their Staples Center tonight at 9.30 pm (in the free LIVESTREAM on SPOX) and have won eight of the last ten games. With a victory LeBron and Co. could advance to fifth place in the west.
