NBA: Zipser continues to believe in NBA comeback

Paul Zipser is still injured at the moment and without a new club after the Chicago Bulls dismissed him last summer. But the German national player still believes in another chance in the NBA.

“I’m pretty sure it’s going back to the NBA,” said the Heidelberg native on SWR. “I have nothing on my mind but getting well and coming back.”

Zipser is currently recovering from a fatigue fracture in his left foot and is making progress. “It’s good to train basketball again,” said the 24-year-old, Zipser is eagerly awaiting his comeback: “I haven’t played a game for seven or eight months. I’ll be happy when it starts again.”

National coach Henrik Rödl supported Zipser in rehab and praised his attitude. “Paul is a true professional. He kept himself extremely fit in a phase where he couldn’t really move,” says Rödl.

Zipser was pulled into 48th position by the Bulls on the second lap in 2016 and played a thoroughly convincing rookie season. In the following year, the German national player dragged himself across the field again and again with minor injuries. In two years, the Forward played 98 games for the Bulls, averaging 4.7 points and 2.6 rebounds.
